Mud & cat puke ...

... and again no pictures(sorry - the camera is upstairs). I just wanted to type this up quick and get on with my evening routine. The last couple of days have been interesting so I thought I would share with my few readers. I know I've been slack about updating but my Mommy Blog is not the only one suffering, my Simming Blog has also seen no real traffic.

So about the mud: Today was mud day for my younger two. First off it's warm today, which is wonderful, but(isn't there always a but) it also means that mud season aka Spring is just around the corner. So this morning we were almost to school when little M fell into the mud - I sent her home with K to get changed and popped into the office at school to let them know that M& K would be late. I then dropped A off and walked the dog. When I got home M's shoes and boots were in the mud room so I knew she was home. Turns out K had gotten her home and changed only to have her trip and fall into mud again just before they got to the school so she had to bring her back again and my Mom told her to just leave M home and get to school.

Not long before lunch break stared I got a call from the school that K was dizzy and hungry and crying and wanting to come home so I told them to send both K & A home and that I would be keeping them home for the afternoon. A had a week of dizziness from some virus not long ago so I thought that was it but K seems to be recovering just fine so I think it may have been PMS more than anything else.

Once school would have been out A went to play up the street at a friend's house but came home after a couple hours covered in mud(I think he fell in it on purpose several times - he's that kind of boy). So he had to shower and change clothes before he went back over with a warning of no more playing in the mud. Then he lost track of the time and no one at his friend's house thought to send him home so I had to go get him for supper. Ah well, at least he had fun.

As for the cat puke - I am transitioning our kitty M to raw feeding like the dog is being fed. S has now been raw fed for about a year and I am thrilled with how good she looks. We recently had dental work done on the cat and I feel he needs to be switched over so he can keep the rest of his teeth. The problem is switching cats is way trickier than switching a dog. Cats cannot be tough loved, you cannot starve a cat into submission because they will starve themselves to death. This defies all sane logic because cats are Obligate Carnivores and need meat to live but what can you do?

For the first 4 or 5 days I though he was doing great and switching easily - then we had the two days of puke. I think I've figured out what the problem was but now I have to start over almost from step one again with him. M also still thinks I should feed him at 2am because I used to feed him at 2am - now I feed him at 5am because 2am feedings are insane. Unfortunately he is still convinced that I want nothing more than to feed him at 2am and so starts then every day walking over me and "Mrr"ing at me to feed him.

Any guesses as to how long it will take him to give up this insane idea that 2am is feeding time would be greatly appreciated - I'm not sure how many more mornings I can take 3 hours of being tromped on and "Mrr"ed at. All I can say is that it's a good thing I get to take naps when I want!!

Okay that is it for now - I'll no doubt post my usual Spring rant about the bad dog owners that don't pick up their dog poo sometime soon - maybe with pictures!
